MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of prior relevant experience in auditing, accounting, business analysis, or program evaluation and leadership

Responsibilities:

Performs advanced level professional internal auditing work as a key component of the corporate governance structure. Work involves assisting in directing a comprehensive audit program including compliance, operational, financial, SOX, construction, and other audit projects; providing consulting services to the organization’s management and staff; providing assistance to develop the annual enterprise-wide risk assessment and audit plan; and providing ongoing training, coaching, and supervision to internal audit management. Maintains organizational and professional ethical standards. Works independently with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

  • Directs audit staff in the planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring of internal audit operations, including assisting in hiring, training, and evaluating staff, and taking corrective actions to address performance problems.
  • Assists in directing the identification and evaluation of the organization’s risk areas and the development of the annual enterprise-wide risk assessment and audit plan and the overall performance of audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures.
  • Provides guidance, through the Executive Directors and Directors, as assigned, to the audit staff in conducting interviews, reviewing documents, developing and administering surveys, composing summary memos, preparing working papers, and approves the final communication of engagements before issuance and decides to whom and how it will be disseminated.
  • Directs, through the Executive Directors and Directors, as assigned, the audit staff in the identification, development, and documentation of audit issues and recommendations.
  • Develops and maintains productive client, staff, management, and senior management relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
  • Pursues professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers.
  • Represents internal audit at management meetings and with external organizations and performs work as assigned by the Senior Vice President, Internal Audit.
  • Maintains a professional Independence and Objectivity that is free from any condition that would threaten his/her ability to carry out internal audit responsibilities in an unbiased manner.
  • Obtains competent advice and assistance if the internal auditors lack the knowledge, skills, or other competencies needed to perform all or part of the audit plan.
  • Oversees an internal auditing quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of the internal audit activity.
  • Assists in directing the internal audit activity to ensure it adds value to the organization by using a risk-based plan where priorities are consistent with the organization’s goals.
  • Coordinates the sharing of information and activities with other internal and external providers of assurance and consulting services to ensure proper coverage and minimize duplication of efforts.
