StepStone is looking for an experienced individual responsible for Fund Finance arrangements and Foreign Exchange functions within the Private Debt investment team. This team member will interact and collaborate with banks, and other financing / FX partners and internal stakeholders from business and operational departments.
The person should have an excellent understanding of fund finance, treasury and ideally of the private debt asset class, strong project management and communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master degree in economics or finance preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of related financial services experience required
  • Understanding of private debt asset class and related funding needs
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with demonstrated history of taking initiative, being adaptive in a fast-changing environment, and working independently
  • Execution-focused mindset while preserving basic risk-management principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, showing the potential and ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects to source, structure, and execute a variety of bespoke lending arrangements and streamline origination processes
  • Lead the onboarding of new lenders and credit facilities across the platform
  • Working with lenders on bids for credit facility opportunities and negotiating term sheets and legal agreements
  • Be involved in ongoing oversight on existing arrangements collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders. Answering other day to day credit facility questions both internally and coming inbound from lenders and other 3rd parties
  • Lead the selection and implementation of alternative solutions for FX Hedging of Private Debt portfolios.
  • Review existing foreign exchange arrangements and assess improvement potential
  • Interact on a daily basis with external relationship managers, advisory firms, investment bankers and asset-structuring professionals at a variety of financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, advisers and specialty lending entities. Maintenance of these relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Work with various teams internally on broader strategic initiatives such as a credit facility, hedging and treasury management tools, broaden the platform’s financing sources and FX capabilities, working on cutting edge and new structures for the platform
  • Interact with and provide presentation materials for various Management and Board Meetings
  • Collaborate with senior business leaders and provide creative solutions to meet unique client and portfolio needs
  • Develop and preserve relationships with internal and external legal counsel
  • Coordinate and lead specific activities and projects including but not limited to Asset Liability and Cash Management aiming to optimize risk/return of portfolios
