JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for safeguarding the Agency’s assets and ensuring the financial statements, including the books and records, are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP. Ensuring compliance with company financial and accounting policies and procedures and also ensuring internal controls are effective in both design and operation, including the routine monitoring of controls. Executive leadership of the Information Technology (IT) function. The Vice President of Finance is a key member of the Agency Executive Team and, as such, participates in establishing and implementing strategic business plans for the Agency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education /Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related area and a minimum of 7 years of experience in non-profit or corporate financial management is required. Prior experience in leading and developing a team is required. A CPA / CMA or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Job Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and thorough understanding of accounting, financial / management reporting and financial systems and procedures; experience with Great Plains financial systems preferred. Strong understanding and knowledge of GAAP and specific experience in non-profit/fund accounting preferred. Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Must be able to work with multiple deadlines, possess solid analytical and problem solving skills. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the agency and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word & Outlook).
  • Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Primarily office work, however travel within the state may be required. Evening/Weekend hours required as needed. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Must be able to visually and auditory assess and interact with staff and vendors. May lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Valid AZ Driver’s license with reliable transportation, current registration/insurance and appropriate driving record.
  • You must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities.
  • Level One Fingerprint Clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance.
