Description:
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our esteemed client, located east of downtown Ottawa, is in search of a Chief Administrative Officer with a strong finance and accounting background to join their vibrant team on a permanent basis.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage all accounting functions and financial planning and analysis, serving as a strategic partner to the President and Board of Directors
- Drive cost efficiencies and optimize business processes in alignment with the organization’s growth trajectory. Conduct comprehensive analyses of internal business operations
- Assume responsibility for taxation and audit preparation before sending it to the 3rd party provider, cash management, and financial reporting
- Oversee regular controllership, the entire accounting cycle, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control processes
- Monitor company performance, implement necessary corrective actions, and furnish detailed reports for stakeholders and the executive team
- Ensure compliance with local and Canadian financial regulations by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging legislation and taking requisite actions
- Conduct thorough analysis of corporate liability and investments through rigorous risk management practices
- Supervise Human Resources operations, collaborating with external partners for benefits, payroll, and recruitment. Provide leadership to staff handling other HR functions
- Serve as a mentor, coach, and leader for the finance and accounting team. Oversee the implementation and enhancement of Software and Information Technology systems, ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory standards
