Hiring Salary: $50,000/year non-negotiable

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MA from an accredited institution in Spanish or a related field of specialization.
  • native or near-native competence in Spanish and English
  • demonstrated success in teaching Spanish language courses
  • ability to teach first-year Portuguese

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • experience teaching all levels of Spanish language courses plus cultural content courses
  • experience teaching Portuguese
  • experience with online instruction

Responsibilities:

The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida, Tampa, is seeking candidates for an appointment to a nine-month, full-time, visiting position with the possible extension for a second and/or third year to teach Spanish and Portuguese at the rank of Visiting Assistant Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction, effective August 07, 2024.

  • teach all levels (elementary to advanced) of undergraduate Spanish language courses and elementary-level Portuguese classes.
