Description:
Do you love to cook good solid food and care for people in need? Come and join us .. We´ll teach you Danish when cooking
We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in cooking in a team of 2-3 people. We offer a nice and friendly atmosphere in Café Paraplyen (The Umbrella Café) - a project for vulnerable people. The job is unpaid.
We cook Danish traditional comfort-food for our guests from Monday - Sunday. We prepare approximately 45-50 meals a day. At times we cook Indian, vegetarian, Hungarian, American foods too.
The Cafe Umbrella is a non-alcoholic, social cafe run by the YMCA’s Social Work. As a volunteer you will meet a lot of different people who spend their time and energy for the benefit of others.
The house is characterized by a comfortable atmosphere, a fun-loving and dynamic daily routine. The contact between guests and volunteers is characterized by trust, respect and “hygge”.
We prepare a variety of dishes - working in teams. You’d be guided by our kitchen coordinator.
The house is open daily - from 8 am - 4.30pm, Wednesdays until 7.30 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9 am until 3:30 pm.
Come and visit us, - if you´d like us make an appointment for an interview please send us an email or call us.
The work is based on the values of the Danish folkchurch - but people of all denominations are welcome.
