The Volunteer Insights and Reports Asisstant is an exciting volunteer role that gives you a chance to provide support to the national Volunteer Resources team of the Salvation Army. This role is ideal for someone who loves order, systems and quality improvement, as well as supporting a team to achieve great outcomes for volunteers.
Key responsibilities
-

Undertake administrative functions

  • Work closely with the Volunteer Resources team to understand data analysis and reporting requirements
  • Develop dashboards and reports for key metrics and initiatives on a routine and ad-hoc basis.
  • Assist in data extraction and analysis of volunteer surveys and support in compiling reports summarizing survey findings
  • Track work tasks, status and completions in an appropriate manner
  • Assisting the Volunteer Resources Team with other tasks on request or as identified as growth and learning opportunities.

Provide quality support services

  • Maintain professionalism at all times, conducting oneself with integrity and respecting personal privacy and confidentiality.
  • Work within the boundaries of delegated authority
  • Follow process and carry out all tasks with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Learn from examples and experiences to ensure improved work effectiveness
  • Provide feedback on better ways of working and opportunities for improvement

Work within policy & procedure

  • Reflect TSA mission, vision and values at all times following all policies, procedures and guidelines

Qualifications and skills (desired/required)

  • Proficient in use of excel and Power BI
  • Strong data and analytical skills. Must enjoy working with numbers and bringing structure to reports.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn how to use online survey platforms such as Microsoft forms
  • Confident technology user and comfortable working with digital tools and willingness to learn new online systems as required
  • High level focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Personal motivation and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • The ability to work from home in an appropriate home office environment under indirect supervision
  • Complete volunteer induction and ongoing training - TSA is a ChildSafe workplace.

Time Required & Commitment

Ideally, we are looking for someone that can do 4-6 hours per week (more if you like), preferably on a Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Friday, however it this is flexible so long as you can spend time on any one of these days checking in with the Process and Enhancement Lead (who you will report into) to be updated on tasks that week.
Development opportunities with this role
This role will give volunteers an opportunity to continue to develop skills and build experience in administration, use of systems and software, reporting for a national team. Additionally, there will be access to a range of training opportunities and insight to the work of a large not-for-profit religious organisation with expressions in many different areas of society.
