Volunteering to visit with your dog is an easy and rewarding way to bring excitement and joy into the lives of older people.
All dog owners know about the happiness and connection that dogs bring into our lives. Dogs encourage touch, conversation, laughter and friendship among all ages and classes of people. Or at other times, they provide just quiet companionship.
Research studies over many years have shown real benefits of canine companionship particularly to people living in aged care in promoting happiness and improved health outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS

Regardless of the role or location, all volunteers require;

• A current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care, or be willing to obtain one
• Evidence of your current Flu & COVID-19 vaccinations
• Evidence of your Dogs current vaccinations
