Job Summary
NAV CANADA plays a unique and critical role managing the 18 million square kilometres of Canadian civil airspace and the North Atlantic oceanic airspace under Canada’s control. With over 100 staffed sites, 5,300 employees, and 45,000 customers, NAV CANADA is a publicly accountable, non-share capital corporation with operations from coast-to-coast-to-coast. They are one of the few fully private companies in the world wholly responsible for air traffic control, flight information, and other aeronautical services.
Within the context of enhancing and leading corporate performance, change management, and enterprise risk management, NAV CANADA is seeking a dynamic Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer to join the organization’s executive leadership team.
Job Description
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer holds a pivotal role in overseeing the development, implementation, and benefits realization of the Corporate Strategic Plan for NAV CANADA.
Responsibilities include leading the formulation of long-term strategic goals, traffic forecasting, conducting market research to inform decision-making, monitoring performance metrics, and managing risks associated with strategic initiatives. Additionally, they design and implement change management strategies to ensure successful outcomes aligning with organizational objectives. Collaboration with executive leadership and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders are crucial aspects of the role.

You are distinguished by your exceptional leadership abilities, strong analytical skills, and advanced communication capabilities. You excel in inspiring teams, navigating complex data to inform strategic decisions, and fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders. With a strategic mindset and adaptability to changing priorities, you are adept at developing long-term change management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
In addition to your strategic prowess, you exhibit exemplary leadership, inspiring and motivating teams to execute strategic initiatives effectively. With empathy, emotional intelligence, and intellectual curiosity, you navigate complexities with grace, earning the trust and support of stakeholders at all levels.
Having earned at least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field, and accumulated a minimum of 10 years in advancing leadership roles within complex and regulated business landscapes, you possess extensive experience in strategic planning, business development, and corporate strategy, along with exceptional communication and relationship management skills. Fluency in both official languages is preferred.
