Description:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Business, Communication, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of general technology, management, and leadership experience
  • Significant work in the field of AI, Project Management and/or Computer/Machine learning.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Show a foundation in computer science, machine learning, or related areas, and showcase proficiency in applying generative AI technologies to build content and improve efficiency.
  • Experience or familiarity with Production Technologies is a plus.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record deploying new technologies in media and entertainment. Have a broad understanding of and expertise in the various types of production that occur across Paramount, with an ability to match technology solution with business needs.
  • Showcase strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills when presenting to partners and collaborators.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide direction and oversight to ensure project resources will be optimized and priorities continually reviewed ensuring alignment with strategic and business objectives.
  • Demonstrate ability to define efficient architectures and workflows for various technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Paramount Global is seeking a Vice President of Generative AI Production Technology Operations! This person will be responsible for leading a support team to implement Paramount Global’s generative AI strategy for production and content creation, with the goal of innovating and developing generative AI operations. Paramount strives to be at the forefront of the responsible development and adoption of generative AI, which has the potential to significantly transform studio content production processes and enable workflow efficiencies through various use cases and generative models.
Paramount Global’s production operations are diverse, covering multiple brands, geographies, and markets. While each area has its unique processes and needs, they all share a common requirement for ongoing innovation in technical capabilities and tooling! This position aims to provide centralized innovation around generative AI opportunities, operations, and systems in support of the many production groups and reports to the EVP, Global Production and Studio Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Take charge of the early-stage development of the Gen AI innovation program, evolving it into a sustainable initiative covering use case development, technology deployment strategy, infrastructure and model requirements, AI partnership evaluation, testing, POC requirements, and integration of successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate openly with AI and tech leaders to define a company-wide AI strategy at Paramount.
  • Collaborate with Paramount’s Data Strategy, AI/ML Insights working group, Enterprise AI, Streaming, Media Supply Chain AI leadership, Infrastructure, Legal and Vendor Management teams,
  • Lead all aspects of AI use case development in partnership with internal collaborators from Development, Production, Post-Production, Marketing, and Media Supply Chain leadership. Sponsor and support use case and model testing for these groups with a goal of selecting and integrating the most effective new capabilities and tools within production environments and workflows.
  • Develop and implement the Gen AI operational plan, ensuring robustness, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate buy vs. build options and decide on custom applications versus 3rd party solutions. Define and collaborate with other technology and infrastructure teams to build Paramount’s Gen AI platform eco-system.
  • Develop long-term capital investment options, conduct cost modeling and benefits analysis, and lead return on investment/payback analysis. Build and communicate annual, quarterly, and monthly operating plans, budgets, and forecasts, while overseeing deliverables and outcomes aligned with the plan.
  • Organizational Leadership and Project Management:
  • Build and lead of team of Gen AI technology and innovation experts as needed to support program requirements. Leverage technical expertise and broad experience to provide guidance and direction to senior leadership, colleagues, and staff.
  • Ensure workstream and project breakthroughs meet business and technology needs. Develop meaningful performance metrics, objectives, and key results to gauge the progress and success of initiatives.
  • Communications and Collaboration:
  • Evangelize Paramount personnel at all levels on the benefits and opportunities associated with generative AI for content creation and production efficiency. Prepare compelling presentation materials and represent the group as an influential authority on the subject, instilling confidence and motivating the organization to take risks and embrace new technologies.
  • Develop partnerships with senior leadership, determining and aligning initiatives with Paramount production business and technology strategies. Establish collaboration and support for investment in new technology directions.
  • Maintain open collaboration with similar companies and industry bodies involved in media production. Understand and participate in industry wide production strategies and standard processes.
  • Share knowledge around responsible AI development and use, demonstrating sensitivity and awareness around IP protection, responsible use, ethical use, and employee training.
