Summary:
The Vice President of Application Development is responsible partnering with senior business leaders to drive the conceptualization, transformation, delivery, and technical realization of application solutions creating efficient and innovative platforms for business customers and leadership. The Vice President of Application Development will address the needs of the organization by creating new solutions and deploy those solutions across the enterprise. Managing and mentoring technical staff and working closely with senior management to listen the needs of the organization and propose appropriate solutions are key roles. In this role, significant emphasis will be placed on identifying opportunities for innovation in order to ensure success in an increasingly competitive and fast-moving industry and technical landscape. The position will report directly to the SVP & CIO.

Responsibilities

• Work with peers to develop and coordinate strategy, architecture, roadmap, budget, and execution of IT initiatives.
• Continually assess and evaluate the impact of emerging technologies against the strategic business needs and interpret business value for the leadership team in a consultative capacity.
• Provide strong leadership to the various team members through mentoring/coaching, career development, interpersonal skills, teamwork ethic, and enabling leadership skills.
• Contributes heavily to functional management and develops in-depth subject matter expertise.
• Stays abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to White Lodging, IT Applications, and the hospitality industry.
• Displays strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership ability across all levels coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills.
• Establishing the roadmap for technical projects in alignment with the various core values and goals of White Lodging.
• Lead the efforts to improve and innovate company processes by strategizing and implementing new solutions and applications.
• Supervising and mentoring the human resources at hand and within other supporting departments to meet the needs and goals of the organization.
• Establish strategy and direction for cloud based platforms and service-oriented architectures where appropriate to execute on the vision of White Lodging through the use of technology.
• Researching and recommending new solutions that will benefit the individual business units and overall organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

:

• BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems.
• Master’s degree preferred in a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in the Information Technology industry, specifically Applications Development, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience negotiating with vendors; ability to manage external relationships with contracting firms and application developers.
