Description:

VP SALES - NORTH AMERICA

Trackunit is a fast-growing company and a leading supplier of IoT solutions, operating out of many offices worldwide. Trackunit specializes in digital solutions that connect machines, people, and systems in the global construction industry. The construction industry is the least digitalized industry of all. This lack of digitalization has left construction far behind a global economy on the rise and placed the industry as one of the least productive industries too.
We are looking for a passionate, customer-focused, and growth-oriented executive with demonstrated success in rapidly scaling technology sales at the regional level. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the VP Sales will manage and expand our North America Mid-Market accounts by leading and coaching a team of sales reps.
With locations in the hearts of London, ON, Kitchener, ON, and Chicago, IL, we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from one of our locations or remotely from anywhere in North America.

WHO ARE YOU IDEALLY?

  • Engineering and/or Business Degree preferred
  • Proven success as an individual contributor and minimum 3 -5 years sales management experience.
  • Proven success in selling to the construction industry (Contractors, OEM’s, Rental Companies)
  • Proven success selling Telematics and/or industrial technology.
  • Experience selling SaaS software business models preferred.
  • Sophisticated networking skills, able to build relationships with diverse personalities across organizations, at all levels.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
Don’t meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we’re looking for ideally, but if you’re super excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

  • Don’t waste your time on writing the perfect cover letter for the job. We want you to create an impact that matters, and that’s not in the cover letter.
  • Initial phone conversation with a colleague from our People & Talent team to get to know each other a bit better.
  • Virtual meet and greet. Meet with Amish Sabharwal
  • Personality-based interview. You will be asked to fill out an online personality assessment using use Hogan prior to the interview. There are no correct answers - the aim is a dialogue about the results and Trackunit’s culture, so you’ll get to know us better as well.
  • Assignment-specific interview. We want you to get an insight into some of the concrete work tasks or challenges related to the role. You will be given a case to prepare prior to the interview, and at the interview, you will present the case to relevant colleagues from across Trackunit, who you’ll also work closely with in the job.
  • If needed, throughout the process we will obtain references from former employers and do background checks for level specific, if you have not provided these yourself.
  • Offer presentation and walk-through. We’re lucky to have you!
We hire skilled and enthusiastic people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every bullet point listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and are enthusiastic about connecting construction, we want to hear from you.
Trackunit is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, colour, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic.
Trackunit is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified people with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, please let our People & Talents team know.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively contributes to the creation and execution of Trackunit’s key account sales development strategy by helping to drive customer’s digital transformation.
  • Build a best-in-class sales and key account development team through attracting, coaching, and retaining top talent.
  • Manage and grow a team of key account executives developing existing accounts, in a multi-level structure and geographically disbursed territories.
  • Proactively foster trusted relationships and serve as a strategic partner to customers.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Customer Success executive counterparts to ensure end-to-end cross-team success and customer-centricity.
  • Generate customer success stories and referrals from the account portfolio that helps drive new business.
  • Grow customer accounts with profitable margins via upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong customer-centric relationships with clients while positioning yourself as a valuable business consultant.
  • Negotiate contracts and book revenue with client counterparts in procurement and executive leadership levels.
  • Provide monthly updates to the Trackunit management including forecasting, customer and product feedback, and industry trends.
