OUR CLIENT

Our client, an MGA based out of Ontario is looking for a Commercial Liability Underwriter specializing in tough to place classes, specifically Construction and Manufacturing. In this role, you’ll provide underwriting expertise to handle new business and renewals, servicing a broker portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in a similar role with a primary carrier or MGA.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Extremely focused on responsiveness/customer service
  • Detail oriented, strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Familiarity with delegated authority/Interacting with Lloyds
  • Coachable, flexible mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Provide underwriting excellence on Liability
  • Reply to brokers in a timely manner.
  • Quote and bind renewals as well as some new business
  • Address coverage needs and request referrals.
  • Rewrite policies, remarketing as needed and obtaining relevant underwriting documentation required.
  • Communicate with clients regarding non-renewals and provide alternatives to ensure no lapse in coverage.
  • Process cancellations, including following up on cancellations and Broker of Record letters.
  • Stay up-to-date on products offered by insurers.
  • Update client information and record all activity using EPIC.
  • Follow-up on policy changes.
