We are delighted to be able to offer a full time Waiting List & Appointments Coordinator position within the Radiology Department at Northumbria Healthcare Trust. The position will be based at North Tyneside General Hospital, but there may be requirements to work between sites.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player who can demonstrate a high standard of reception and administrative skills. You will become part of an experienced, pro-active, and friendly team working to serve patients throughout Northumberland and North Tyneside.
The position also includes evening cover and weekend shifts on a rotational basis. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to work within the Radiology Appointments team providing a high standard of patient care, liaising with patients and clinicians to arrange patient appointments for all specialties.
Essential Criteria
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant subject/area of work
Educated to GCSE level, with GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above in English or equivalent or relevant experience.

To assist in the provision and delivery of a high quality radiographic service within Northumbria Health Care Trust whilst adhering to all trust and departmental policies and procedures. Within the role staff will be expect to manage a number of service lists, ensuring all patient details are correct. The team contact patients to arrange diagnostic appointments for all specialities within Radiology ensuring the patients have a clear understanding of the procedure or diagnostic imaging they are attending for. Staff are required to provide all relevant preparation information to patients prior to attending. Staff will be part of a team managing all incoming and outgoing calls, generic inbox queries and supporting the service provision diary set up.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. This post will be based at North Tyneside General Hospital however the successful candidate will be expected to travel to Wansbeck General Hospital to provide cover when needed. This post also includes evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis.

The successful candidates will join a highly motivated, fast paced teams providing in depth appointments and detailed preparation information to both patients and clinical teams. The role includes managing a range of service lists, dealing with incoming and outgoing calls from patients and clinicians relating to appointment queries. The candidates will be expected to liaise with clinicals teams and Consultants on a daily basis.
Excellent Keyboard Skills
Previous experience working in a busy office. Team worker.
Good interpersonal skills
