Description:

The Targeted Lung Health Check Programme is a national scheme that identifies people aged 55-74 at increased risk of lung cancer to improve detection and subsequently treatment outcomes for patients.
This post holder will assist in the provision and delivery of a high-quality service for the Targeted Lung Health Check Programme across Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust whilst adhering to all trust and departmental policies and procedures.
Carrying out general admin and clerical duties and managing the reception area. There will be a requirement to book appointments ensuring patient’s details are correct. Ensure all relevant data is recorded into the relevant system, capturing attendances performed outside of a clinic.
The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical teams on site and with the admin teams across the Trust.
To act as a first point of contact for the TLHC team and coordinate all patient appointments and enquires, using initiative to discern between queries ensuring minimum disruption to the programme or immediate response depending upon appropriate action.
This post holder will assist in the provision and delivery of a high-quality service for the Targeted Lung Health Check Programme across Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust whilst adhering to all trust and departmental policies and procedures.
Participating in all aspects of the administration services within the Targeted Lung Health Check Programme. Undertaking a range of duties to ensure an accurate and efficient waiting list and bookings service is available to the programme.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across a multi disciplinary team
The post holder should be able to exchange appointment information to both staff and patients
Able to communicate effectively with patients or relatives conveying sometimes sensitive information including the use of tact and diplomacy in the resolution of all queries
Liaise with doctors, ward sisters, GPs and other staff within own organisation
The post holder will form part of a team within the radiography department and will have an important role in ensuring an efficient and effective service delivery to patients and clinicians
Able to communicate effectively with senior Nursing and Medical/Consultant staff on a daily basis ensuring a working relationship is maintained at all times
The ability to effectively communicate with leads of services around diary management and be able to deputise in the absence of the Programme Management Tea
