REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
- Secondary school diploma
- Successful completion of Medical Terminology Course
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
- Computer knowledge.
- Previous experience in a health care setting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, telephone communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work co-operatively with all staff members.

Responsibilities:
As a Ward Clerk at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare you will;
- Answer phones calls
- Book ambulatory care/outpatient appointments
- Organize charts for admissions and discharge,
- Ability to differentiate between content requirements for operative procedures, medical charts, CCU charts, long-term care charts, and other speciality charts.
- Book tests, appointments, and consultations with other facilities and make all necessary arrangements for patient to attend appointment.
- Access and arrange patient transfers between facilities using PTAC (Provincial Transfer Authorization Center)
