Description:

Ward A3 is a 35 bedded ward for patients with a delayed transfer of care, dealing with complex discharges and supporting patient flow through the hospital.
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of the Ward Manager to provide leadership, management and support to the ward team and is responsible for the provision of patient care, ensuring that it is evidence based and of a high standard and to maintain 24-hour responsibility for the clinical area.
The post holder will ensure that patients receive the necessary care and treatment to promote health by preventing and treating diseases in patients over 65 years old, mainly with acute frail, dementia and delirium conditions.
This role requires close working relationships with a wide range of the multidisciplinary/speciality teams, Consultants, Head of Nursing, Matrons, Ward Managers and Site Management team. In order to succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to have the ability to deal with challenging situations in a fast-paced environment in a professional and calm manner.
To effectively lead and be responsible for the unit and team and the clinical care carried out in the ward.
To manage designated area/s in close liaison with the Matron, Service Manager, and the Practice Development Team to provide the highest quality of assessment and care required to support each patient in their care pathway.
