Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 to join Child and Young People’s Cancer Services in the Paediatric and Adolescent Division.
Teenage and Young Adult Ambulatory and Daycare Ward, Sister/Charge Nurse, based on 3 rd floor, Macmillan Cancer Centre.
The post is full time 37.5 hours covering maternity leave for 1 year.
The role of Sister /Charge Nurse is pivotal in supporting the delivery of our high standards care to all patients, their family and significant others. The successful individual will provide effective and visible leadership, ensuring high standards of nursing care is provided and drive forward both service development and quality improvement, ensuring we promote patient safety and a positive patient experience.
The successful candidate will have excellent clinical, operational and leadership skills. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, senior nursing experience, knowledge of TYA cancers and the ability to work sensitively and collaboratively with diverse teams.
The post offers the opportunity to further develop your knowledge, skills and expertise as a leader within CYPCS. Our Children and Young Peoples Cancer service is rapidly developing and expanding. We are at the forefront of specialist clinical practice and offer a unique opportunity to develop nursing skills and knowledge in this field.
