Description:

The position performs a variety of general Distribution Center functions including receiving, inventory, shipping with customer’s compliances, loading, and high lift and forklift operations in order to safely and efficiently assist the facility in meeting daily production and customer service requirements. Coordinate and oversee the day to day management of warehouse activities. Performs other related duties, special projects or assignments as required.
Assist the Warehouse Manager and Assistant Managers in any way possible to make the work of the warehouse run smoothly and efficiently. Pull orders.
Related duties are to assist in the completion of various job functions. This may include keeping areas clean and clear of obstacles that may interfere with the safety of operations and personnel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as warehouse worker role preferred.
  • Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to weigh and measure items.
  • Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
  • Must have steel toed boots.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and prepare materials for receiving unloading trucks ad checking in merchandise.
  • Match incoming and outgoing product with purchase orders.
  • Verify shipping products expiration codes.
  • Inspect product to ensure good condition.
  • Operate Pallet Jack in a safe manner to move product that must be received or shipped out.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat, sweep, dust, and mop. Organized warehouse and work area for orderliness always.
  • May be required to assist with scheduling freight appointments.
  • May lift cases of product and/or stock merchandise according to documented procedures.
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking of shipped products
  • Create a daily shipment schedule.
  • Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
  • Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory
  • Sort and place materials or items on rack, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
  • Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for outgoing items prior to signing off.
  • Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow current standards and procedures.
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if there are multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
  • Problem solving for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
  • Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Make deliveries with a company vehicle as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
