ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum of 5 years Supply Chain experience, ideally in management and leadership roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate at all levels within an organization to manage stakeholders including Suppliers and Customers
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management – Logistics and Inventory Management
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suit, inclusive or excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Experience supporting and leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to be self-directed in work and/or previous experience in a self-directed role
  • Strong business acumen and adept problem-solving ability which engages with the appropriate stakeholders where necessary
  • High attention to detail and shown ability to manage multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to obtain UK SC security clearance
  • Communication skills and customer focus are critical to be successful in the role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working/Managing within an SAP Supply Chain warehousing environment.
  • University degree
  • Active UK security clearance
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation for UK government contracts
  • SAP SCM Application

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE :

Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is searching for a Vertical Lift – Warehouse and Distribution Manager in the UK. This role will be to jointly lead the elements of Warehouse/Distribution Operations and Supply Chain Import/Export.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the Warehouse & Distribution Function for CH47 - Chinook, ensuring efficient and effective execution of all activities in primary support of the TLCS contract. You will collaborate closely with various key stakeholders, including transportation providers, distribution centres, and internal cross functional teams to continually improve on optimized supply chain processes and achieve the desired level of operational excellence.
The Vertical Lift business unit is an area of significant growth within BDUK and this role represents a great opportunity to develop the supply chain strategies to support progressive development of a diverse team and build a strong and capable UK supply chain to meet the needs of the Vertical Lift business and Customer requirements. This role will report to the Senior Manager for BDUK Vertical Lift Supply Chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Warehouse Operations and Distribution Management:
  • First Line Manager responsible for Warehouse and Distribution requirements across execution locations and the tactical support of material flow for maintenance activities.
  • Managing a team responsible for the coordination of imports/exports for business sites across the UK.
  • Leading a team of approximately 20, with scope for future contract growth and responsibilities for the team member’s professional development.
  • Manage team members performing activities related to contractual deliverable and Key Performance Indicators for the RAF Chinook aircraft, innovation being key whilst also extracting best practices to support new operational areas of the business.
  • People Management - Staffing, employee development, coordinating employee training and supporting all programme and functional objectives.
  • Inventory Management - The development of a professional approach whilst focusing on the team to routinely review key data supporting executional performance, key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement which will assist with driving efficiencies and best practice.
  • Adept practitioner of Seek, Speak and Listen/Psychological Safety principles across all activities whether people or programme focused.
  • Relationship Management - Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Continuous improvement with applying best practice to improve efficiency whilst driving down cost effectively, addressing capacity requirements and developing strategy for growth.
