Description:

Pay Rate: £ 28,325
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: 5 out of 7, 40 hours per week, 3 week rotation, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm (must be able to work both shift patterns) You will be required to work one Sunday per month but you will get a day back on either a Monday or Friday.

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Warehouse First Line Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods and dispatching orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the team to follow Safety Standards and to help reduce or eliminate health and safety related risks
  • Use the Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) program on a daily basis to ensure appropriate behaviours and processes are followed as required
  • Undertake incident investigations within the work place and promptly escalate issues of non compliance to safety regulations and procedures
  • Have clear understanding of Objectives & KPIs applicable to your role and to your team
  • Communicate productivity and direct hours targets to your team ensuring they have a clear understanding of what is expected from them - including communication to new hires
  • Develop your TDM according to your Roles & Responsibilities and validate it with your Line Manager.
  • Assign tasks according to daily resource planning received from Second Line Leadership
  • Track team and individual performance of your employees in terms of:
  • Daily Accumulated Productivity per Employee and Job Code
  • Daily Accumulated Direct Variance per Employee and Job Code
  • % Accumulated Measured Direct Hours per Employee
  • % Accumulated Indirect Hours per Employee
  • Indirect Sign on Activities per Employee
  • Ensure employees are registering the indirect hours properly.
  • Track dispersion of own team and understand the deviations with employees during informal performance reviews
  • Track dispersion of own team, understand the deviations and take actions to improve it
  • Track team and individual set up timeShift start and end of previous day = 40 min after shift startBreak for meals [leave and return] = right after the end of meal times
  • Track attendance of your employees at individual level and indicate deviations to Second Line Leadership for he/she to update the resource planning (if needed)
  • Track the % of errors and damage to goods at individual level and address these issues during performance reviews with employees
  • Contribute for performance tracking improvement, by sharing opportunity of Standard Productivity Rates review with Line Manager
  • Conduct hourly performance reviews with low-performing employees, based on productivity, variance, dispersion, direct and indirect hours
