We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to be based at the customer’s Derby site. The position holder will plan and organise daily activity for the allocated team within Toyota Manufacturing UK. The Team Leader will play an instrumental role managing the provision of the production supplies, ensuring the continuity of production.
We are offering a salary of £39,706 per annum.
Rotational shift pattern: 05:30 - 14:30 & 15:00 - 00:00, 45 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

Shift management:

  • Check all team members are present at the beginning of the shift
  • Check all working areas and equipment for safety, reporting and recording any defects. Check for non-standard activities.
  • Check handover from previous shift.
  • Brief team with any issues/action items from previous shift including accidents. Include any information relevant to the shift in 5 min briefs.
  • Complete end of shift report and KPI information

Team Management

  • Organise team, allocate tasks, and oversee non-standard activity as applicable and authorised. Monitor workloads during shift.
  • Maintain, motivate and manage the team encouraging good employee relations

Operational activities

  • Ensure communication throughout the shift regarding Bay control sheets, Process control points, abnormalities etc.
  • Issue FLT keys and check sheets, complete defects if necessary.
  • Continually monitor and manage the shunt operation.
  • Battery bay operation and management.
  • Kaizen initiatives and continuous improvement with member groups.
  • Ensure early/late freight and special deliveries are actioned to the standard in place.

Audits and HSE

  • Ensure all areas are audited as per standard throughout the shift
  • Area safety audits.
  • Risk Assessment and SSOW updates & management.
  • Responsible for training and inductions of new team members.

Key Skills

  • Experience from a busy production environment (experience from an automotive industry or JiT environment would he highly desirable)
  • Team leadership or supervision experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Flexibility and proactive approach
  • A full counter balance fork lift truck licence (FLT Licence would be desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
  • Experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives
