Waste and Collection Operatives

THE PERSON:

We are looking for applicants who have the following:

• Previous experience operating heavy trucks, plant and/or machinery ideally in a similar waste position or related field of work.
• Current HR or HC/MC class driver’s licence.
• Strong customer service focus, including well-developed communication skills and the ability to interact positively with people at all levels.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Construction Safety Awareness (White Card)
• Flexibility to start work at either location and willingness to undertake whatever tasks are operationally required.
• The ability to provide a National Police Clearance no more than 6 months old.

Vacancies currently exist for three permanent full time Waste and Collection Operatives to join the Waste Services team. In this role you will work at the City’s Dunsborough Waste Facility and Busselton Transfer Station operating machinery including the hook lift truck, loader, compactor and semi if licenced. As required you may also undertake waste collection duties in the side arm waste collection truck. Applicants will therefore need to have a flexible attitude to where they work and the type of work they will perform. There will be early starts, some weekend work and occasional overtime.
