We’re seeking a leader to join our team with the following experience:

  • Ideally 10 years’ experience working independently in a laboratory environment under ISO/IEC 17025 accredited conditions, in a discipline relevant to Laboratory Services
  • Broad knowledge of identification and detection of water bacteria, virus and parasites, particularly Cryptosporidium & Giardia
  • Experience in microscopy
  • Experience in virology in a production environment
  • And/or experience in water parasitology in a production environment
  • And/or experience in PCR methods including qPCR in a production environment
  • Experience in method development in these fields including statistical validation
  • Experience obtaining and maintaining NATA accreditation in one or more methods or labs
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage a small group of staf

Responsibilities:

WHAT’S THE ROLE AND WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are a diverse team of approximately 30 analysts dedicated Sydney Water’s vision of ensuring the quality of water and wastewater that is provided to our customers & stakeholders.
Our Microbiology team consists of three subgroups: Bacteriology, Cell & Molecular Biology and Parasitology.
The analysis we do provides results for our drinking water, recycled water, the operations of treatment plants, environmental response incidents and many more applications.

We’re seeking a leader to join our team with the following experience:
