Duties and Responsibilities:

Your Role and Impact: As an Assistant Project Manager at Westwood, you will play a crucial role in steering complex engineering projects to success, from the initial concept through to completion.   • Project Leadership: Manage and oversee a diverse range of water resources projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed industry standards.
  • Business Development: Actively contribute to business growth by developing client relationships and contributing to business development activities while expanding Westwood’s presence in the private and public sectors through quality work product.
  • Team Development: Mentor and cultivate engineering team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence. Empower your team to innovate and solve complex engineering challengesDevelop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resources.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with other leaders within Westwood to align project goals with the company’s strategic objectives. Represent the company in critical negotiations and partnerships, enhancing our reputation and impact in the industry.

Required Skills:

Who We’re Looking For: We are seeking Assistant Project Managers who are not only adept at managing drainage projects but are also up and coming leaders capable of inspiring teams and driving innovation

  • Professionals with 3-7+ years of experience in water resources engineering, demonstrating expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage facility design, and project management.
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineers in Texas, or candidates who can achieve licensure within 6 months, showcasing a commitment to professional growth and excellence.
  • Exceptional communicators with proficiency in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcPro, CAD (Civil3D or MicroStation), and familiarity with 2D Analysis (RAS 2D, XPSTRM, ICM), capable of leading teams and engaging with clients and stakeholders effectively.
