Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Water Resources Engineer in our Calgary office.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support water resources and infrastructure projects that span multiple offices. You will deliver innovative solutions to complex projects and be challenged to deliver high quality products to our valued clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading model development and analysis of stormwater, sanitary, water distribution and river models.
  • Acting as Engineer of Record for the design of stormwater, sanitary, water distribution systems and river engineering.
  • Completing statistical analysis of hydrologic and hydrometric data sets.
  • Undertaking spatial analysis using GIS datasets.
  • Authoring technical reports, proposals and design briefs which focus on Water Resources but may span multiple disciplines.
  • Demonstrating ability to deliver successful projects within a team environment.
  • Acting as Technical lead to coordinate deliverables and mentor more junior team members.

Job Requirements:

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered, or be eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with GIS such as Manifold, ESRI or QGIS.
  • Experience with water management modeling software (e.g. PCSWMM, MIKE, HEC-RAS or Infoworks).
  • Experience designing water management structures including: erosion protection, bridge scour, river channels, drainage infrastructure, hydraulic structures, flood protection structures or habitat restoration.

The following would be considered an asset:

  • Post-graduate degree in Water Resources Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience in data modeling, statistics and database languages such as SQL, R or Python.
  • Experience in the following key areas of growth: urban stormwater with an aptitude for programming, river engineering, hydrotechnical design, natural infrastructure and low impact development, water distribution and irrigation water management.
