We are currently seeking a Water Resources Project Manager with federal, state, or local experience in stormwater, watershed management, or water quality/quantity modeling for our Fairfax, Virginia office.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering/science discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in conducting and managing projects in one or more of the following areas: MS4 program support, stormwater management design, watershed restoration planning, watershed modeling, pollutant load reduction analyses, and H&H modeling.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated project management experience including cost and schedule development; budget and schedule monitoring; staff supervision; and client interaction.
  • An in-depth understanding of pollutant sources and their impacts on water quality, human health effects and risk assessment, development of TMDLs or other loading assessments, and development of water quality criteria.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple clients, including federal, state, and local entities.
  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers and scientists based on the expertise of candidate.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage tasks for technically complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to interact well with coworkers and existing clients in a professional and confident manner.
  • Experienced in client relations and business development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective meetings and written report preparation.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

We are in search of a new team member to join our family of engineers and scientists to support municipal, state, federal, and private clients in Virginia and throughout the nation. This is an engaging and high impact position in which you will operate as a technical leader and manager working closely with national industry leaders to develop and support clients with stormwater management and design, watershed planning, hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis, water quantity and water quality analysis, MS4 programs support, and/or watershed management projects, depending on experience. In this position you will lead projects and ensure key deadlines are met, and that project team members and disciplines work together collaboratively and effectively. In this role you must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills — which will allow you to engage in a portfolio of diverse projects and successfully work with people at all levels.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide project management expertise for MS4 programs, stormwater management projects, watershed restoration, watershed planning, watershed modeling, or H&H modeling.
  • Act as a project manager and/or technical lead and work with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Plan, design, coordinate, execute, and analyze studies and/or projects using both quantitative and qualitative methods for variety of projects, based on experience.
  • Supervise and delegate work to junior staff as necessary to manage specific tasks within larger complex projects.
  • Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner.
  • Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering and scientific disciplines.
  • Interact with clients, including providing technical support and training.
  • Participate in strategic marketing discussions and proposal development.
