The City of Clinton is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of FULLTIME WATER & SEWER TECHNICIAN I. Under occasional supervision, performs the installation, maintenance, and repair of various potable water and sanitary and storm sewer lines, appurtenances, and pumping and lift stations within the service district of the City of Clinton. Operates various heavy equipment and tools as necessary to perform daily tasks. Reports to the Water and Sewer Division Manager. Experience preferred, but not required. Requirements: Requirements include, but are not limited to: (1) Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have proof of a four year High School Diploma or GED accredited, recognized, or reciprocated by the SC Dept. of Education. (2) Should possess or be able to possess a minimum Class B Commercial Driver’s License in a specified time (3) Position requires, but is not limited to, extensive and frequent strenuous physical labor, walking, stooping, bending, and frequently lifting weights up to 50 lbs. (4) Backhoe operation experience and/or Class D Water Distribution Certification a plus. (5)Requires good customer service skills and good oral/written communication skills. (6) Work is predominately outside in a variety of climatological conditions year round. (7) Successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screening is required. Salary Range: $14.42/HR - $16.62/HR ($30,000 - $34,715.20 Annually
