REQUIREMENTS
- Class G driver’s license
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience driving
- Computer and smart phone literate
- Proven ability to work safely and efficiently
- Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
- Strong work ethic
- Must be able to work independently

Responsibilities:
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, the application of safe practices, and compliance with applicable Acts and regulations
- Ensure that all safety equipment, including personal protective equipment, is accessible and in good working condition
- Perform trip inspections on equipment operated and the load, ensuring safety and road worthiness
- Comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, occupational health and safety, the transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
- Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Perform basic maintenance as required
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable federal regulations
- Record and maintain required documentation, including driver logbook, bills of lading, etc. by manual or electronic means
- Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers, both verbally and in writing
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks
- Understand procedures and be prepared for any spills
- Provide feedback to Operations Manager regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
- Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. This may include daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
- Train others when required
- Other related duties as assigned
