THE OPPORTUNITY

KFA is seeking Civil Engineers with 1 to 4 years of experience to be part of our Water/Wastewater Business Practice. The Practice encompasses work in planning and design activities for water and wastewater projects which includes wastewater pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, storage tanks, treatment, and system modeling. This position can be based out of either our Austin or our San Antonio Office.

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Performing civil engineering design calculations, detailing, and plan set production for water and wastewater projects
  • Working under the supervision of senior staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpret plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in engineering design and plan production
  • EIT Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to build relationships with team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Civil 3D Experience
  • MicroStation and GEOPAK experience
  • Specific Design Experience in the following: municipal water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, storage tanks, treatment, or system modeling
