Description:
Planning Manager is responsible for leading the planning team in its development of plan activities. Job responsibilities include a thorough understanding of client objectives and how media strategies can help address such goals. He/She must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the media environment and its applications to our client’s business. He/She should also be able to determine how best to measure the performance of plan deliverables and how to course-correct plans going forward.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize comprehensive media knowledge base and synthesize information into ideas
- Present plan recommendations to client teams
- Oversee plan negotiations and media team activities
- Manage client requests – i.e. plan changes, budget changes, provide marketplace information
- Work with analytic partners to gauge media performance and KPI’s to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were met
- Lead internal meetings with other departments and call on agency resources to strengthen ideas
- Staff supervision, training, and development as well as serving as a positive role model with a strong work ethic and vigorously reviewing all work to ensure a high-quality standard
- Foster a good working relationship across all client teams to facilitate flawless execution of plans
- Establish and grow a strong relationship with the client through a demonstration of industry knowledge and of the client’s basic business issues / maintain client contact
- Steward relationship with outside agency partners (creative, PR, etc.)
- Begin to understand the financial implications of client contracts, plan changes, etc
