Description:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, OR, Engineering).
- Experience with Data Science, mathematical modelling and statistical modelling.
- Strong Experience of Microsoft Excel, SQL.
- Sharp analytical abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
Amazon Supply Chain forms the backbone of the fastest growing e-commerce business in the world. The sheer growth of the business and the company’s mission “to be Earth’s most customer-centric company” makes the customer fulfillment business bigger and more complex with each passing year.
The team owns the optimization of our Supply Chain from our suppliers to our customers. We are also responsible for analyzing the performance of our Supply Chain end-to-end and deploying Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research and Machine Learning models to improve decision making within our organization. We work closely with Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) teams, who own the systems and the inputs we rely on to plan our networks, the worldwide scientific community, and with our internal EU stakeholders within Supply Chain, Transportation, Retail and Finance.
To be successful in the role, you need deep analytical skills, a strong scientific background, excellent communication skills, ability to influence across business functions at different levels and manage stakeholders’ expectations effectively.
You will work in a fast-paced environment that requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable in working with multiple operations, business and technical teams.

Responsibilities:
- Prioritize technical and operational initiatives, working with business and operations stakeholders, scientists and senior leadership to deliver scientific products to optimize our Supply Chain (OR/ML/Statistics).
- Drive the operationalization strategy for existing and new optimization models, aligning with partner teams to ensure the models solve the right business problems and yield the maximum benefit for our network.
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your knowledge and experience.
- Analyze and optimize our Supply Chain with respect to upstream and downstream impacts
- Contribute to the team roadmap and strategy
The job can be based in any of our EU offices.

- Master’s Degree in quantitative/technical field.
- Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
- Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion
- Familiarity with optimization, supply chain and logistics concepts gained through work experience or graduate level education .
- Experience in analyzing large datasets (100M+ rows).
- Programming Languages: Python; R and development and implementation of ETL tools desired but not essential.
