Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is an exciting opportunity for a post-secondary student who wishes to learn about the functions of a Compliance department within a large financial institution, while also gaining valuable hands-on experience
This 4-month fall term (September 3rd – December 20th 2024) will provide you exposure to various industries, products and client groups in the interesting and dynamic world of compliance
You will be part of a team with targeted deliverables, working on initiatives designed to maintain and improve regulatory compliance standards across TD
Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Reviewing changes to market and conduct rules impacting TD Wealth
- Reviewing and updating documents, including digitization of Compliance policies, procedures, and other materials
- Support opportunities to enhance innovation, workflow capabilities and implementation of modernization initiatives
- Research and prepare written materials including memos on emerging issues, trends and evolving regulatory landscape impacting TD Wealth
- Providing administrative support to Compliance teams, including filing, word processing, and maintaining, and providing information from various compliance-related information databases
- Assisting with other tasks/projects as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in law, business or a related field with high academic standing and a demonstrated record of achievement
- Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills; can see the “big picture” in a complex or ambiguous environment
- Excellent verbal communication (both one-on-one and in small groups) and written communication skills
- Ability to develop solid business relationships with business partners and stakeholders
- The candidate should be a self-starter and team player who wants to work in a dynamic environment with other great people that are innovative, customer-focused and have a continuous improvement mindset
- Well-organized, and can prioritize multiple tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, well organized and positive results-driven attitude
- Ability to be effective in both a team and independent working environment
- Strong communicator with the ability to impact and influence others; demonstrated presentation skills
- Advanced Excel skills are an asset
