WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

To support us in our mission, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Web Developer. In this role you will be writing and maintaining efficient, reusable code for web applications using JavaScript and TypeScript. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn new technologies and frameworks to improve skills and contribute to the team.

You will work in an international environment to achieve common goals and objectives. If you are a self-starter who is detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply for this position.

• Developing large-scale web applications as well as tiny single-purpose web apps for in-house use
• Implementing new features in alignment with provided specifications
• Creating innovative features through independent exploration of new ideas
• Maintaining existing code, tests and infrastructure

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Very strong ability to listen attentively, apply logic and reason, follow- through, can-do attitude, and exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
• Knowledge of Java as well as an up-to-date overview of the current tool landscape
• Experience working with databases as well as using abstraction layers
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively and proactively with the team
• Creative personality with good technical comprehension and a passion for learning and growth
• Pragmatic, knowing when to choose which tool and when to abandon a failed approach
• Intuition for ‘just the right’ amout of abstraction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory; any other languages such as German, French, or Spanish are a plus

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Possesses self-motivation and initiative, driving proactive engagement and problem-solving
• Ability to communicate efficiently and work collaboratively with team members
• Proficient in Java, adept at Linux and server configuration, and skilled in database modeling
