Wage Benefits:

  • Wage employees receive 11.2% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of benefits and vacation leave.
  • 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
  • 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • A university graduation in Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related degree.
  • Plus 2 years of related experience is required.
  • Herbicide Applicator Certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered based on:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year education

Assets:

  • Experience in weed inventory, control, and biocontrol programs.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, especially EDD Maps.
  • Alberta Pesticide Applicator Licence.
  • Proficient in weed identification through hands-on experience
  • Accomplished in working independently in remote locations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in weed management practices.
  • Possesses some supervisory experience.

As a Weed Management Crew Lead, you will lead weed inventory fieldwork, coordinate weed control measures, and provide valuable training on weed identification.
