  • Full time, with minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week.
  • Monday - Friday with weekend jobs available.
  • Competitive remuneration $26.69-$35.00 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be based in Auckland, but may also be required to work in Taranaki, Manawatu-Wanganui, Wellington, and Canterbury. This may require the need to travel away from home or relocate.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Execute welding tasks primarily using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and ARC welding, ensuring the proper joining of metal components according to specifications.
  • Fabricate metal components by cutting, bending, and shaping metal using tools such as shears, presses, and saws, following design specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine the layout and sequence of welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Assemble and fit components accurately to meet design requirements, emphasizing welding where necessary for structural integrity.
  • Inspect and assess materials for welding suitability and fabrication quality, identifying any defects or inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with quality control to ensure compliance with industry standards, particularly emphasizing weld quality and structural integrity.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition. Report any malfunction or damage for timely repairs.
  • Work closely with other team members, including engineers and fabricators, to achieve project goals and timelines, emphasizing welding tasks where applicable.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure seamless coordination within the production team, emphasizing welding-related aspects.
