Description:

Wood is currently recruiting for Quality Assurance Welding Inspectors for upcoming project work in Queensland.

The role of the QA Welding Inspector is to ensure all mechanical activities meet quality requirements according to drawings, specifications, standards and codes supported by appropriate testing and inspection records.

  • AS1796 and/or AS2214 Welding Supervisor
  • CSWIP 3.1 or IIW IWI B Welding Inspector
  • Witness ITP hold points
  • Coordinate site PWHT and NDT activities
  • Witness hydrostatic pressure tests
  • Maintain welding traceability records
  • Joint fit-up inspections prior to welding
  • Monitor welding inputs as per WPS’s
  • Work with the QA/QC coordinator to ensure ITPs and QA documentation is inputted as required
  • Work with Supervisors to ensure all activities (i.e., removals, installation, Hydro testing, ITP hold points, completions are carried out in accordance with drawings, standards and specifications:
  • Ensure all checks and testing are completed as per the ITP, providing QC signoffs on hold point steps as required
  • Provide final inspection of construction work and create a list of outstanding punchlist items if required
  • Document non-conformances
  • Work with Mechanical/Hot work Supervisors to ensure installation drawings have been as built
  • Ensure all QA information is compiled and provide completed work packs back to the client post construction activities
  • Ensure construction activities are supported by appropriate QA documents, revise and create these as required
  • In depth knowledge of welding and fabrication activities
  • In depth knowledge of Australian and international Standards
  • Cert III Fabrication / Engineering
  • Previous shutdown experience
