Description:

This one-year opportunity provides training and hands-on experience in clinical leadership and management. This opening is available to Dental colleagues DCT2 and above currently working within NHS Wales
Working directly to a Senior Lead along with their teams across NHS Wales and engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, this role offers a significant career development opportunity for fellows to build networks, help shape national and regional initiatives, whilst supporting the delivery of key programmes of work.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to meet the needs of the service. Should you be successful at interview you will be seconded over on your contractual salary

Successful candidates will undertake a leadership and management project from proposals that have been submitted by healthcare organisations in Wales. Leadership fellows will be supported in their host organisations by project supervisors. An indicative timetable will be provided detailing an extensive academic element of the programme which is provided by Glyndwr University, the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management along with sessions delivered throughout the year as part of the HEIW Expert Series.

    The Welsh Clinical Leadership Fellowship (WCLF) programme is a one-year opportunity for medics and dentists (ST3/DCT2 and above), nurses, pharmacists, AHPs, optometrists and healthcare scientists (AfC Band 7 and 8a). The WCLTF programme provides training and hands-on experience in clinical leadership and management.
    The role offers a significant opportunity to help shape national and regional initiatives. You will be working directly to a senior lead, collaborating with teams across NHS Wales and engaging with a wide variety of partners and stakeholders. The post provides a significant career development opportunity to build networks, acquire a deep system appreciation whilst supporting the delivery of key programmes of work. The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money in planning, commissioning and service, and is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
    The Training Fellow will be seconded (please ensure the applicant has the permission of their substantive employer to undertake this secondment) or 12 months fixed-term to the host organisation/department within NHS Wales in which their project is based.
    The aim of the scheme is to recruit and develop the most aspiring clinical leaders of the future. As part of the programme, you will undertake a leadership and management project from proposals submitted by healthcare organisations in Wales. Leadership Fellows work closely with senior medical, dental, pharmacy or optometry colleagues and are supported in their host organisations by project supervisors.
    There is an academic element of the programme provided by Glyndwr University, and masterclasses throughout the year with the Faulty of Medical Leadership and Management. The programme equips the Leadership Fellows with a range of knowledge, skills and experience required to be credible and influential clinical leaders in a future modern NHS
