Responsibilities:

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

This is a 24 month contract based in our Zetland head office and visiting our Chullora facility and interstate sites from time to time. In this role you will oversee Work, Health and Safety and strongly support Securities and Facilities for the group across multiple sites within Australia. This role sits within the Human Resources function and works closely with the business stakeholder groups to ensure all 3 areas are adhered to in a compliant manner.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Implement and continually improve current WHS policies, procedures and practice in line with legislative requirements and VW Group global guidelines
  • Support the development of the VGA security policy in line with global guidelines.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses including identification of root causes, implement action plans and follow-up
  • Efficiently monitor expenses to maximise cost effectiveness
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant obligations and commitments related to product compliance and environmental compliance and management systems
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures and protocols for all facilities, assets and all staff including contractors (including surveillance systems, access control and incident response plans)
  • Ensure safety of employees, customers, visitors and company property is upheld

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline
  • Return to Work qualification
  • Fire warden and first aid training preferred
  • Proven work experience across WHS, Facilities or similar experience in demonstrated safe workplace protocols
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with a variety of audiences clearly and concisely
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organisation skills
  • Willingness to learn and expand your skillset and broaden knowledge in a resilient manne
