Job Description

  • Overall responsible for wildlife management on the new development site of Mandai Precinct
  • Point of contact for wildlife requiring human intervention – rescue and release within the Mandai Precinct
  • Implement wildlife monitoring program, including setting up and maintaining camera traps
  • Conduct biodiversity awareness trainings
  • Anticipate potential impacts to wildlife on construction sites and suggest mitigation measures
  • Work closely with consultants and contractors on the implementation of mitigation measures
  • Database management, analysis, and reporting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in biology or animal science, preferably with honours in zoology or ecology.
  • Demonstrated basic competence in identifying local wildlife
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team across departments
  • Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills in construction environments
  • Ability to ride a bicycle and/or driving license is a plus.
  • 2 years of experience in related field
  • Experience in animal handling is not a must, although experience would be preferred. Interest and willingness to learn wildlife handling on-the-job is a must.
  • Physically fit, able to walk and hike long distances while carrying loads of up to 7-8kg.
  • Demonstrated experience of or willingness for working in a humid forested/outdoor environment for extended periods, including night-time.
