DLS Technology Corporation is looking for a Microsoft Specialist for a contract role. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of a Microsoft Entra Hybrid joined Co-managed Windows Management solution. This includes transitioning to Windows 11, leveraging Intune, and integrating several key Microsoft tools and solutions. The successful candidate must be willing to operate as an Independent Contractor.
The ideal candidate for this position must have a clear criminal background, and may be required to provide references, as well. This project is anticipated to start in July 2024.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Windows 10/11, Autopilot, BitLocker, LAPS, and related tools.
  • Strong time management with Microsoft support tickets and inquiries.
  • A development/test environment and Microsoft tenant where changes can be made for testing/validation.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience with managing large-scale IT transitions and implementations.
  • You must be an independent contractor with your own insurance.
  • Access to Microsoft support channels.
  • Ability to provide specialist-level support throughout the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Environment Discovery, Requirement Gathering, and Dependency Review: Conduct thorough discovery of the current IT environment and identify specific requirements and prerequisites for each deliverable. Review Microsoft Licensing positions related to the project and identify on-premises dependencies and propose solutions for future scope.
  • Detailed Project Planning and Design: Refine project plan and deliverables based on discovery findings while ensuring the deliverables align with the client’s goals and requirements.
  • Tenant Attach Planning and Execution: Plan and execute Tenant Attach configuration in collaboration with internal IT staff and manage Configuration Manager responsibilities related to the project.
  • Group Policy Workload Transition to Intune: Identify and transition suitable Group Policy workloads to Intune. Validate and ensure remaining Group Policies function as intended.
  • Configuration of Windows Autopilot Scenarios for Windows 11: Implement and document various Autopilot scenarios. Train IT Service Desk resources on Autopilot configurations. Create supporting tools/media documentation. For example:
  • OS Recovery tools to be used on bare metal hardware in the event of a hard drive failure/replacement.
  • Creation of Intune Windows Policies and Office Apps Policies: Develop Windows and Office Apps policies in Intune based on current Group Policy configurations. Explore alternative solutions where Intune policies do not meet requirements.
  • Configuration of Windows Update Rings through Intune: Implement Windows Update configurations and ensure their effectiveness through testing and validation.
  • Deployment of Windows 11: Plan and execute the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 for existing devices including testing and validation of policy. Assist with internal documentation and communication for the upgrade process.
  • Implementation of Microsoft Tools and Solutions: Plan and implement Microsoft Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS), BitLocker, Remote Help, and other necessary tools. Provide training and documentation for these tools.
  • Creation and Management of Intune Windows Apps: Assist with the creation and deployment of various Windows applications via Intune. Ensure documentation for application deployment is thorough and accessible.
  • Script Creation and Support for Additional Tools: Develop scripts to support or complement Windows app deployment and device configurations. Provide guidance on alternative solutions where Intune functionality is limited.
  • Pilot/UAT and Training: Design and execute a Pilot with User Acceptance Testing. Provide training and knowledge transfer to IT resources for all deliverables.
