Description:

ICON GROUP

  • Permanent Full-Time role
  • South Brisbane or Northern Sydney location
At Icon Group, we prioritise the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees above all else. We are committed to creating a work environment that fosters growth, happiness, and work-life balance. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced WHS&W Advisor to join our team and help us maintain a secure and healthy work environment.
Working with a dynamic group of teams that span hospital pharmacies, cancer centres and our Slade Health pharmaceutical compounding (production) across Australia and NZ, you will provide guidance and support to stakeholders who are passionate about providing the best patient care and have a strong sense of purpose and pride in making a difference.
While the needs of our client groups are diverse, our safety-first culture is common to all and well supported by senior leaders. Our aim is not to just comply with legislation. Our WHS team strives to go above and beyond in providing and leading a best practice WHS service that supports safety and wellbeing and their initiative and innovative approach is highly valued.
If you are passionate about promoting a culture of safety, mitigating risks, and ensuring the wellbeing of our employees, this is an excellent opportunity for you to make a significant impact and contribute to our company’s success.

Responsibilities:

With flexibility for the role to be based in our South Brisbane office or at Mt Kuring-gai (Northern Sydney, NSW) and reporting to the Head of WHS&W, this role will provide support and guidance in all aspects of WHS. This includes:

  • Provide expert guidance to managers on safety and injury management legislation, ensuring all actions are in line with compliance requirements.
  • Manage workplace injuries, injury management processes and work cover claims.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Pharmacy Services, Slade Health Compounding, Icon Cancer Centres) to design and promote employee wellness programs, including mental health initiatives, fitness programs, and ergonomic solutions.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, including new orientations, to increase awareness and promote a safety-conscious culture.
  • Support change management activities to support implementation of safety and wellbeing systems, initiatives and programs.
  • Investigate incidents and near-hits, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including training sessions, drills, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate safety metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance safety performance.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulations, and proactively suggest improvements to our health and safety practices.
