Worker's Compensation Paralegal

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Paralegal in St. Louis to work with our Missouri & Illinois Worker’s Compensation practice group. This position will require someone who is comfortable with multi-tasking and can autonomously handle a large volume of files along with meeting strict deadlines. Successful candidates should be teachable and have excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple attorneys and their supporting paralegals on a day to day basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow and learn more in the legal field!

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability contribute to a positive team atmosphere
• Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Strong written and verbal and communication skills
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and general proficiency and ability to learn various software applications

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Paralegal Certificate or equitable working experience
• Four year college certificate or degree preferred, but not required
• 3-5+ years of experience in worker’s compensation, personal injury, or medical malpractice

• Analyze and gather medical records
• Maintains attorney’s calendars, including recording and monitoring court appearance dates, depositions, pleading deadlines, discovery deadlines
• Preparation of case and medical summaries
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery documents, interrogatories and discovery responses
• Assist with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders
