We are seeking a Workers’ Compensation Coordinator, who will be responsible for managing and coordinating the administration of workers’ compensation claims and programs within the organization. The role will involve ensuring compliance with Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) regulations, facilitating the claims process, and providing support to employees who have been injured on the job. The candidate will serve as a liaison between employees, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely and effective resolution of workers’ compensation matters.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and process workers’ compensation claims filed by employees, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Submit initial and ongoing claims reports to the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) and insurance carriers as required by regulations.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of workers’ compensation claims, including incident reports, medical records, and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements and facilitate access to documentation for audits and reviews.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives regarding workers’ compensation matters.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders to expedite claims processing and resolution.
  • Develop and implement return-to-work programs and accommodations for employees recovering from work-related injuries or illnesses.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and departments to identify suitable transitional duties and facilitate the return of employees to productive work activities.
  • Coordinate benefits administration for employees on workers’ compensation leave, including continuation of wages, medical benefits, and disability accommodations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and legal requirements related to workers’ compensation benefits.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and root causes of workplace injuries and accidents to inform proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with safety committees and departments to implement safety programs, training initiatives, and ergonomic solutions.
  • Stay informed about updates and changes to workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, filings, and documentation to regulatory agencies and insurance carriers in a timely manner.
