JOB TITLE: Trade Innovation & Transformation Director, Open Account
LOCATION: London
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a collaborative, hardworking and strategic problem solver to join the Trade & Working Capital Innovation and Transformation team based in London. This role will focus on transforming the Open Account proposition and take it to a market leading position.

The Trade team at Lloyds Bank is leading on digital solutions and has a number of important core and discretionary transformation breakthroughs for 2024 and beyond.
You’ll be responsible for the open account strategy, technology partnerships, managing key projects, implementation of the strategy and commercialisation.
You’ll work closely with the wider Trade business, including Product, Sales and Delivery and the Trade Lab in the Markets Platform and other key change partners. They will work with the wider team to embed a culture of innovation, promoting new ways of working and always centred around customers. Agility and resilience are key attributes, able to change directions when necessary.

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Understanding and building the strategy for open account business including management of the strategic investment portfolio; conducting market analysis; building the brand through industry participation, panels and representation at events; leading the investment management processes; developing talent in the team; and interlocking with relevant partners.
  • Undertaking workshops with customers to obtain insights regarding Lending, Trade and Working Capital needs; leading agile project management; using a project model of validation, proof of concept, pilot to launch and commercialisation; contributing in Trade Forums, Strategy Delivery Working Groups and Platform Monthly Platform Reviews; and building third party relationships.
  • Designing open account solutions including industry and client engagement to understand client challenges; delivering Trade GSI projects to meet more client needs; leading risk across project delivery and Fintech partnerships; and close monitoring of market trends.
  • Deliver the debt P&L which includes monitoring and meeting our agreed commitments in relation to the Open Account strategic initiatives; and handling relevant change budgets alongside the Platform team to ensure we can meet our revenue commitments.
  • Driving Sustainable Growth and driving digital adoption and commercialisation; Supporting in negotiations and execution of digital transactions; and ensuring robust risk and control frameworks in operation across project delivery, with delivery of automated controls and control by design.

What we need from you?

  • Expert in open account trends and industry developments with excellent market knowledge in this field.
  • Solid understanding of Open Account trade products and solutions and be a subject matter expert for customers, Coverage and Sales teams.
  • Confident building strong relationships, internally and externally across the industry. Using subject matter expertise to contribute to thought leadership in the industry e.g. through panels and event representation.
  • Proven track record managing revenue and costs with the ability to make decisions that deliver a competitive advantage.
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects within a Transaction Bank environment. Experience in successful engagement with Platform teams is also important.
  • Ability to think laterally, be innovative and find creative solutions to complex problems within the context of the economic environment and GSI targets.

And any experience of these would be really useful!

  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of customer behaviours and build products that meet their needs. Maintain focus on end-to-end processes and continuously improve our offering.
  • Define the vision and strategic direction based on a deep understanding of our customers’ needs, as well as new and emerging trends. Able to influence through storytelling.
  • Identify future regulatory requirements and understands their implications. Deliver products that satisfy the LBG risk framework and wider industry regulations.
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office. Experience with Visio is desirable.
