SCOPE

Houlihan Lokey is seeking a Working Student to join our Financial Sponsors Coverage Group in Frankfurt. As a Working student in Houlihan Lokey, you will be required to work up to 20 hours per week, on a flexible basis, whilst focusing on your university subjects as well. This is a great opportunity to work alongside investment bankers in a stimulating environment supporting Private Equity clients. Basic Qualifications/Requirements

  • You must be enrolled at a German University working toward a Bachelor or Master’s degree
  • Previous internship experience within investment banking and / or related fields
  • Have an understanding how Private Equity works
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills to conduct sound researches
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
  • A demonstrated interest in M&A
  • Strong capabilities with MS Office, especially Exce

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

  • International experience is desirable, but not essential
  • You must be motivated and have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environmen

Responsibilities:

As a Working student, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training. You will get similar levels of exposure as a first-year analyst, assisting in the preparation of client meetings with Private Equity firms, creation of potential buyers lists for (upcoming) projects and also maintaining the weekly deal activity in the DACH market. Furthermore, you will analyze Private Equity firms and their underlying investment criteria to gain knowledge of their preferences.

You will support our Financial Sponsors Coverage Officers to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of a financial sponsor, its investment criteria, and its portfolio companies
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality deal flow and actionable proprietary investment ideas
  • Introduce bankers with deep industry expertise who can impart value-added, actionable ideas for new platform investments and existing portfolio companies
  • Leverage our Capital Markets Group to advise on debt and equity capital needs
  • Provide extensive fundraising capabilities with our Private Funds Group
  • Offer tested, trustworthy valuation services to financial sponsors
  • Provide access to our Financial Restructuring Group, which advises financial sponsors and their portfolio companies undergoing financial distress and creditors looking to take over companies through their unpaid claims
  • Deliver our vast network of management and board members
