What you’ll be doing
Corpay^ is currently looking to hire a Working Student within the Finance division. This position falls under our Plugsurfing line of business based in Berlin.
About Plugsurfing
Plugsurfing’s mission is to bring back the joy of a carefree drive by building the platform that connects charging point operators to EV drivers. We believe that a zero-emission future is dependent on the electrification of personal transport, and our job is to help accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles by making charging an EV simple.
Plugsurfing is a multi-sided platform with a broad product portfolio that spans B2B SaaS for charging point operators as well as end-user mobile and web apps for EV drivers to find chargers, see prices, start charging and complete payment. At Plugsurfing we believe in fully empowered and autonomous teams who truly own their projects and aim to bring excellent work into the world.
This is a 6-month fixed term contract, working on a part time basis (up to 20 hours per week). This is a hybrid role, however, the first month will be mostly onsite.
What you’ll be doing
You will have full accountability of your responsibility areas and work closely with our external accounting partner to ensure high quality financial data to support business decisions. You will be responsible for the financial planning and reporting of the EMP business and follow up including monthly variance analysis and forecasting. You will also participate in various financial development processes to further develop our operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Analyzing & building effective business processes & internal controls with a focus on value creation than bureaucracy approach.
  • Building the dynamic cost analysis and providing the insightful report to Department Directors how to spend smarter.
  • Cost tracking vs budget and simulating the forecast to respect corporate guidelines.
  • Work closely with our external accounting partner to ensure high quality monthly financial information.
  • Transformation of Financial statements from Local GAAP to US GAAP and succeed with the month closing.
  • Preparing the monthly reporting to top management about financial results.

  • You are a registered student rather advanced in your studies of business administration, accounting and finance or business and information technology.
  • You speak German and English fluently.
  • You have result-oriented approach and do what it takes to get the job done.
  • You have strong analytical skills and a can-do attitude with attention to details.
  • You have basics accounting (German GAAP) knowledge; IFRS or US GAAP knowledge is a plus.
  • You are an advanced user of Excel (PivotTables, INDEX-MATCH, macros’ knowledge is a plus) and other MS Office tools.
  • You have a strong tolerance to uncertainty and adaptation to quickly changing work environment.
  • You are a high performer with a strong academic track record.
  • Experience in using ERP’s and other analytics tools is a plus.
  • Internship or working experience is a plus.
  • You are hungry to learn, and you are a self-directed learner.
