Description:
We have a new opportunity for a Workplace Health & Safety Manager (APAC) in our leading global organisation. Based in Mascot, Sydney but reporting to the Senior Director Health & Safety Global you will direct all Workplace Health, Safety and Environment (WHSE) activities across the APAC region being Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Be the Area subject matter expert around the following topics:
- WHSE Safety & Risk Management Program
- Injury Prevention
- Drug & Alcohol Management Program
- Return to Work and Injury Management
- Business Continuity
- Ensure compliance with all AU, NZ and SG Workplace Health & Safety legislation and ensure relevant WHSE practices, policies and procedures are up-to-date and upheld.
- Undertake reporting and compliance requirements e.g., WHSE system maintenance, risk management controls, audits, annual WHSE plan and develop and implement initiatives accordingly.
- Provide appropriate advice and support in relation to workplace health, safety, and environment management.
- Support and guide the Health and Safety (HS) Committees, HS representatives, first aiders and fire wardens.
- Analyse key trends and develop appropriate approaches.
- Manage all safety issues raised and investigate to reduce or minimise any risks and hazards as appropriate.
- Support and assist Managers with their local Environmental Management Plans (EMP)
- Enhance leadership and management capability in relation to WHSE management.
- Enhance employee capability in relation to WHSE responsibilities.
- Provide a framework of continuous improvement and health, safety and environmental awareness within the workforce.
- Design and develop relevant WHSE training packages to meet the business needs.
- Manage the annual APAC Flu program and participate in wellbeing projects managed by the HR Team.
- Provide regular reporting to the APAC HR Director and Senior Leadership Team
- Support the Global Health and Safety Team with projects and business continuity.
- Demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team.
- Participate in Area Leadership meetings.
- Support managers to implement recovery and return to work plans.
- Support the Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator with advice and assistance during the claims management process.
- Provide advice and assistance to the RTW Coordinator with individual return to work plans, as required.
Responsibilities:
This critical position will work closely with the Operational Leadership, Human Resources, and other Functional Support Teams to develop, and maintain an effective health, safety, and environmental management system across APAC as well as empowering managers and employees alike to practice and promote WHSE policies / procedures and wellbeing initiatives.
