Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. Salary: $68,560.96 per annum (plus Industry Allowance)

FULL TIME - PERMANENT

Greater Shepparton City Council is looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join its Civil Infrastructure Maintenance department. This is a fantastic opportunity to come on board as a Works Officer 04 - Grader Operator and join our experienced team as a permanent employee. In return, as an employee you will be entitled to a nine day fortnight, access to staff health and wellbeing programs and extensive professional development.
Council is looking for someone with a positive attitude and is a team player who will take pride in doing the best job they can for the citizens of Greater Shepparton. All Council outdoor staff can perform roles within other work teams from time to time, providing opportunity to gain experience in other areas of work.

This role is within the unsealed roads team who predominately work on the unsealed road network and requires the following experience and skills in:

• Unsealed road maintenance
• Plant Operations (grader, water truck, combination roller)
• Supervising a small team
• Re-Sheeting

In addition to the above experience and skills, candidates with, but not limited to one or more of the following will be considered favourably:

• Traffic control
• Construction Induction (White Card)
• Truck licence

This position may work with, or around, Crystalline Silica. It is a requirement of the role to read and understand information relating to Silica:

• Unsealed road maintenance
• Plant Operations (grader, water truck, combination roller)
