Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Job Description
Established in 2016, our Grosvenor Mine is an underground steelmaking coal operation based in the township of Moranbah, QLD. Situated only five minutes from Moranbah fifteen minutes’ drive from the Moranbah Airport and with an expected life of mine until 2039, Grosvenor is here to stay for the long-term growth of your career. We offer modern facilities for camp accommodation with a short travel time of only five minutes from the mine site, Anglo American housing options and healthy meals!
The Workshop Electrician is responsible for ensuring all activities undertaken are performed in line with safety and statutory requirements. To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and have a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to a high level within the workshop
- Experience on Mobile Underground Equipment
- Undertake troubleshooting, fault finding, breakdown and preventative maintenance on Heavy Mobile equipment & Surface equipment
- Achieve performance targets in compliance with statutory, safety, health, budget and environmental requirements
- Knowledge of SAP and is not essential but desirable
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven maintenance experience with underground mining equipment
- Hold a valid Electrical Licence and relevant tickets
- Current LVR CPR.
- Current EEHA (Electrical Equipment for hazardous area)
- Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets
- Experience delivering best practice electrical maintenance
